We are quite spoiled with the choice of natural and organic hair care available on the market today. There are so many effective hair care products and you can browse the CosNatural hair care section and see for yourself. In addition to the branded products, there are quite a few DIY treatments that can really help your hair to look its best. Below is a list of our tips to transform dull over-worked hair into healthy glossy locks.
1. DIY Deep Nourishing Avocado Mask.
For medium length hair you will need one small very ripe avocado pear, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp Argan Oil, 1 tsp Grapeseed Oil.
Mash avocado really well and mix it with honey and oils. Apply the mixture on dry hair along the full length of the hair. Cover with cling film and a towel, leave for 30 min. Rinse your hair well with warm water and follow with shampoo and conditioner. Dry as normal. This is a really rich moisturising hair mask perfect for damaged, dry hair with sensitised ends. You will see a difference from the first use. For best results apply at least once every 2-3 weeks.
2. Herbal Hair Rinse.
This is a really easy yet effective way to instantly boost shine, and make your hair stronger and healthier. You can use herbal tea bags for this. For brunette hair our favourite is nettle tea, for blonde – chamomile tea works really well. Brew 2-3 tea bags in 3 litres of boiling water for at least 40 min. Rinse your hair with herbal water after washing, making sure that it has cooled down to room temperature. Herbal Hair Rinse can be used on a weekly basis.
3. Hair Washing Tips.
The way you wash your hair is also very important and can dramatically improve how your hair looks. If you use shampoo and conditioner, use shampoo only on your hair roots and apply conditioner to the ends. Always rinse your hair with cool water after washing. This helps to close the hair cuticles making hair smooth and more manageable.
Remember that it is crucial to use products suitable for your hair type. If your hair type is mixed, then choose shampoo suitable for hair roots and conditioner for the ends.
Always use heat protection products if blow-drying or using hair straighteners.
